I have the above car with 150k miles on it. Runs great! I did the Pentosyn and filter to the trans at 125k miles. All run well, been across country with it, no problems. A couple weeks ago, it got stuck in 2nd gear once. Now, it does it a couple times a day. The shifter is in Drive - High Gear, Auto shifting when this happens.

I pull over, shut the engine/ignition off for 10 seconds or so, and restart, trans shifts fine for most of the day. If I'm on the freeway, it will run in drive for hours until I stop, or get into a city, stop and go driving, then it occasionally will get stuck in second gear again.

It always fixes itself when I shut the engine/ignition off for a few seconds, so, I'm thinking shifter position sensor, or something electrical or computer related.

Any clues?
