I'm planning on replacing the front discs and pads on my '01 A3 1.8T Sport to save myself a bit of coin.

Does anyone know if they wear sensor will come and and will I have to have it reset?

 

There is no reset for the wear sensor. It just knows wheter there is an open circuit or not and throws the light if there is an open. As long as the new pads have wear sensors all you have to do is plug them in and the light wont come on. If you dont have wear sensors on the new pads you will have to short the connector to trick the system into thinking the pads are ok.
