A4 alignment question
Ok so i buy this 96 A4qm runs great but everytime i turn right it sound like im going over rumble strips. i take it to NTB and i get the wheels alighned. on the print out they tell me the camber on the right side wheels is off by about a degree. understandable, but they tell me they cant align it becaus eaudi needs to do it with some special tool. is this true or just BS. i know audis need some crazy tools some some stuff but really with alignment.

RE: A4 alignment question
It's BS. True, you need the propper machinery to do a thrust-angle alignment, but any PROPER tire shop should have the machinery and software to make it happen. I had mines done at Tires Plus. I get to take it back, twice a year, for the next three yers, to have it re-checked for free!

RE: A4 alignment question
It is true and not all shops have the tool, in fact bath shops I used to work at and the dealership I work at now does not have it. I asked the matco, mac and snappon tool dealers for it and they can't get it for me, it can only be purchased through audi. I went to our local audi dealship and they don't sell them there either and told me I would have to contact audi. I was looking for that tool and a tool to compress the timing chain tensioner for the timing chain due to that pesky little leak common on the back of 1.8t's. You can just remove the bolts and slide out the gasket that is leaking without moving the chain but I need it because I also plan on changing my cams. The tool need for the alignment moves the subframe and is only needed/used on audi/vw's.
