I have a 98 A8 that just yesterday started stalling at idle. If I sit idle at a traffic light, the car shuts down? It will start right back up and there are no other problems. I sat in my driveway last in park and it did the same thing. When it shuts down the check engine light will come on. I turn the key to start and it starts right up. Can anyone help here?

Just for FYI. The car has 137K on it, second transmission at 69K. Fluid and filter changed in the new one at 127K. No issues since then. I hope it is not the tranny?

 

im having a similar problem with my 97 a4...from what ive found my problem is the MAF...just something to check into...
