B7 A4 Windshield trim
#2
You can't really polish it. The aluminum is hard anodized. The anodizing gets milky over time. It is possible (with the trim removed) to sand the anodizing off (or strip it with an anodizing remover product), then go up in grits from 600 to 2500 (or even 3000) in steps and then,,,,,,use a buffing wheel and a progressively finer buffing compounds. You can get it to look almost like chrome (if you want), or stop at a coarser compound for the more stock look. Only downside is, you'll have to use an aluminum polish every so often to keep it looking that way, unless the trim is re-anodized ($$$$) Probably cost less to buy new trim than to have that done, to be honest.
I did all the aluminum trim on my Aspen this way (and it was a time consuming, tedious job). Looks excellent though!
