I have a 1996 a4 2.8 and before i found the code i put two wrong codes in trying. The radio locked with the two dashes on it over code and keep leaving radio on with key off to reset and it hasnt. SHOULD THE KEY BE ON WITH RADIO ON FOR ONE HOUR? Ive been trying for days with the key off and wont reset. I hope its cause the key needs to be on? Can anybody answer please?
P.S. Been locked since got car 3 weeks ago really need radio going crazy i have code just cant reset radio.....

 

Try just leaving it alone for a while, or unplugging it.

 

Don't leave your key in the ignition at all, just hit the power button on the radio and it will run for about an hour then it will turn itself off. Turn it back on then you should be able to input the code again, just make sure to get the right code.
