If its the front windows there are usually plastic clips that pull the window up and down, they eventually crack and make it hard for the window travel, eventually won't lift at all.
I would always keep the slides lubricated with silicone but chances are the clips are going bad.
You can buy just the clips instead of buying the entire window regulator which saves you major $$$$

You get them at the dealer, not sure how much they cost exactly but i think they are in the $50 range for a pair.
You have to pull the door panel off which is dirt easy, there are two small phillips screw at the ends of the top of the panel, take those out then pull the panel straight upwards. Roll the window all the way up and you should be able to get the clips off the regulator cable, i think there is a small torx bolt holding it on from behind it which can be a little pain to get at.

You are one of the first people who the Dealer wants to do a lower service, & YOU want to get the whole thing done.

I would have found out how much they are going to charge, & just have them do it, if it's cheap.

this may actually becaused by window glass channel dimensions out of tolerance (too narrow).
you may need to repair the channel tolerance by widening the channel...
there is even aspecial Tool No: JC4300for the job.
