Default Convertible Top Idiot Light

2001 Audi TT Quattro Roadster, 68,000 miles, TRUUT28N011019055, AMU.
With the top up/closed the idiot light on the instrument cluster blinks all the time, even though it is completely closed and well latched. With the top down/open the idiot light is in the normal state, off. Somewhere on the car there has to be a micro switch or some kind of a sensor relaying the convertible top position. I can not find this switch/sensor to be able to begin troubleshooting the problem. I can not find any position information in my Bentley Service Manual. Any clues, any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Gratefully yours,
Craig

The top closed switches are in the windshield header latches. Look in the holes where the top pins go in.

Numbers 26 and 27 in the pic

Sorry about the tiny pic, can't figure how to make it larger.

Thank you! Don't worry about the diagram size. I now have a place to start working from as soon as it warms up enough to go out to the car...
