coolant question for 2001 a4 1.8t 5sp

Default coolant question for 2001 a4 1.8t 5sp

2001 a4 quattro 1.8t... is there a special type of coolant audis use or anything... my coolant sensor says im running az little low and i just bought the car... just trying to make sure i use the rigth stuff... im hearing about green coolant vs pink coolant.... and any brand recommendations?

G-12 comes with the car.

G-12 is correct- but be careful of toping off. If you have G-12 in your car right now, your coolant will be pink. If you have the green stuff in your car right now, don't put G-12 in unless you plan on flushing ALL the green stuff out first. Having a mixture of the two will cause major problems for you over time as it will coagulate (sp). Sounds like you need to top off a bit - go buy some distilled water from your grocery store. It should be < 1.00 for a gallon.
