I have all types of drive systems, and I just love the Quattro on my 2007 A4 (second one).
The Quattro is highly refined and transparent, except on slippery surfaces, when it works as advertsed. I think it, and the whole car, is just about perfect.
I feel it does add stability on accellerating turns - all the wheels are pulling.
The added tractionon slippery surfaces can cause over-confidence, and of course, you can't stop any faster - so you have be aware.
I suggest you go for it.
