Default a funny rumbling sound when i move off.

I have a 97 audi A4 quattro 2.8 v6, lately I,m hearing and feeling a rumbling noise when i move off.
It only happens for about 2 or3 seconds after I move off. Can someone tell me if this is normal with
quattros or does it have to do with the transmission or what? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

if this is happening when you pull off from a stop, with the wheels turned more than 3/4 in either direction, it's normal for Quattro. If it's anything less than 3/4 you may have a CV-joint issue. Check the front outer and inner CV-boots for holes or rips or tears

thanks AWDaholic, it might be my cv joint because it happens when i take off straight or if my wheels are 3/4 turn.

if there is a "clicking" sound that goes along with it you are beyond mere CV-boot issues and deep into CV-joint or axle-half (better, but much more expensive) replacement

I second the cv boot call, but if the cv boot is ripped and its leaking grease to the point where its clicking the only thing you have to do is slap on a new boot and grease it up. Our joints next to NEVER fail, plus they cost $900 a side at the dealer so its a better idea to put a $60 boot repair kit on it first.
