Fuel pump went out in my 03 Audi a4 1.8t so I replaced it.. Everything worked fine for a week or so.. Then I put gas in it one day and it stayed pegged on empty.. When I fill it up it goes to 3/4 of a tank then when it gets to a 1/4 of a tank it quickly drops to empty. When the car stays off overnight and I start it in the morning the has gauge works for a bit then it falls to empty quick! So frustrating! Could it be a faulty fuel pump? Sending unit? PLEASE HELP!!

 

Chances are it is just a faulty sending unit.
