Question Good idling coolant temp?

We just installed the kenwood 9980 w/ ecoboost obd2 adapter into our 02 a4 quattro v6.

While playing with the ecoboost gauges, I was setting up the coolant gauge and noticed I was idling at 225deg. Is that hot on a 60deg day with ac not running?

We just did $4,000 worth of work to this car including a new water pump, and all timing components, and a bunch of other misc stuff.

We also are having a hell of an issue tracking down a random misfire code that does not trip the CEL light, but shows up in the ecoboost diagnostics screen. Yet the car feels like it runs perfectly. Any ideas guys?

Thanks!

I would check the temp with a alternate source.
Not sure what a ecoboost is but my guess it is Chinese made & NOT accurate!
Does the temp continue to climb or does it stabilize at 225?

It reads directly from the obd2 port so its reading whatever the ecu sends it. It stays at that temp while idling. Nothing higher

Again check the temp with a alternate source. Pyrometer , infrared pyrometer & that way you will know if the temp is accurate.
Does the car have a temp gauge , if so where does it read? It should be in the middle.
Another thing to check is if weather or not the aux cooling fans are kicking on with the A/C.
