96 A4 quattro 5sp 2.8... Recently got the car... my climate unit works but if i wiggle it the temp will disappear but red background will stay lit up... also the temp side lights up brighter than the right side which is the fan speed side... also the previous owner said it needs a blower motor... nothing happens when i turn on ac or heat! new climate unit? new blower motor? whats the problem here?

 

The difference in brightness might be simply because of different power of the bulbs backlighting the displays. When you say nothing happens, that means no air is coming through or no change in temperature of the air? If no air, than the previous owner might know that the blower is shot. Would help to see the coding and faults from the ac unit.
