Have a 03 A4 with an auto transmission. Engine sludge killed the engine so i bought another one to replace it. The engine was from an A4 with a CVT transmission. Im having problems connecting the engine to the transmission. the nub part of the torque convertor will not go into the end of the crankshaft far enough so that the converter is flush with the flywheel. I looked at the other engine and it seems like the crankshaft end is different. Do the B6 A4 engines differ by year? Is there any kind of spacer or something else that will help fix this problem? It's about 1/4" off.
