IPod Adaptor Installation Problem
Hi There,
Seems like the iPod is the must have interior car accessory these days so I jumped on the band wagon and bought a genuine audi iPod adaptor (8E0051444)
I figured I'd be able to install it myself and gave it a good shot but with varying degrees of success. The setup is such:
A4 Avant B6
Concert II head unit
Genuine iPod Audi adaptor
iPod Nano Aluminium
Pulled the head unit out and connected the connector to the harness and then to the iPod.
The iPod light up with a nice Audi logo and started charging. Looking good so far !
But unfortunately this is as far as we got... No music to be heard. I'm not 100% sure how to engage the CD multi-changer option on this Concert II but from what I've read you use the CD button to engage it (I have no manual for the head unit) However only NO CD shows up on the display. The iPod is fully charged with 5 playlists ready to go.
The install manual does mention having to encode the radio / navigation system with the car diagnosis, measurement and information system in CD changer mode and to delete any stored faults as a final step fr installation. This sounds like a job for a dealership. Is the diagnosis a necessary step for installation?
Can anyone with any first hand experience installing this kit cast a little lighton my predicament? If it would be of any help I can post pics of the wiring setup etc.
Thanks in advance

Do you have a factory CDC? If not you might have to program the radio with Vag-Com for a DCD. If not,I would do all the connections again. NO CDC it's telling you the iPod is not being recognized by the headunit.

The radio was fitted recently and wasn't the original radio factory fitted with the car. I recently replaced the tape only "chorus" model with the cd "concert II" model. So if I understand you correctly my next step is to program the radio with a dealer ?
thanks for your advice
