left dipped headlight
Hi-
Have you or anyone else you know of experienced this and what was the end result?
I am on the road up to seattle from san francisco. My car is kicking so much *** in terms of the handling in ice and snow this drive but in 2 days this is the third lamp to go out.
First my right turn signal. Wasn't the light but the actual housing- my mechanic in sf fixed at no cost. Halfway to oregon a tail light goes bad- I keep spares and fixed myself. No biggie.
I am worried about the dipped headlight because a) its the third lamp issue in 2 days, and I'm reading that many have replaced the bulb to no avail. Did it turn out to be a power issue? The housing? A fuse? I don't want to waste a bunch of money or time fixing the wrong thing- your input would be appreciated.
My audi is hi maintenance but I love her!!

It is possible that when the head light bulb is replaced the bulb is not clean when installed. If a person touches the glass portion of the bulb and does not clean it with rubbing alcohol, the oil from our skin will burn at a high temperature on the glass and cause the bulb to fail. Hope that helps.

Turns out replacing the headlight worked with no further issue.
I am however going to check the volt meter - I am so paranoid about being blindsighted by an electrical issue, especially if I should have seen it coming.
Thanks for the responses!!
