Motor swap
Hi,
A friend of mine has a 2001 Passat 2.8 5spd and needs a motor. He found one locally but it's off of an automatic. The question is can the motors be swapped? Are there differences between the two motors?

Doublecheck to be sure but I think I read somewhere that due to different mounting for the flywheel vs the auto flexplate, the cranks are different. I'm not positive but it's worth some research.
