Default New guy with a question

Hey folks I'm new to this site, and i recently purchased an 05 A4 wagon with the 1.8T.. this car is originally from Quebec, and all the warning displays in the computerare in French, is there any way of changing this to English without taking it to the dealer to get re-programmed??

Thanks alot, Kevin

If you find someone local to you with VagCom (or you get it yourself - you can buy the cable on eBay and download the software free from www.ross-tech.com), you may be able to do it as easily as changing the country code in the computer. This feature allows Audi to set the cars up for whatever country's laws are in effect. For example, if the car is coded for Canada, you'll have certain features, like daytime running lights, activated, where if you reselect the code for the USA, it'll turn that feature off. Try doing the country code reset and see if that takes care of the issues you're having. A euro-specialty mechanic will likely be within an hour of your location (or closer), and they'll have VagCom. If you have to, take it to a dealer - they'll hit you an hour's labor probably, but if no one around you has VagCom and there aren't any euro shops, that'd be money well-spent.
