I just purchased a 98 audi a4 1.8t and it is inspected until 4/07 but when i start the car it says INSP and server i the main gauge cluster. The salesman said its only because it wasnt serviced by someone with a VAG tool that was able to check off when it needed service even tho it was properly serviced. Is this an issue or is that all it is?

it can be reset thru the instrument cluster too, just like the service interval (oil change notice)

Thank you very much. Unfortunately the car didnt come with a manual so I gotta find one or some kind of manual. with my VWs bently was the way to go for all around manuals but not sure as far as Audis.
