Smile OBDII compilance

Hi all.

I have an european Audi A4, built on May 6th, 2000. Is it compatible with the OBDII protocol? I want to order one of those OBD bluetooth scanners on eBay and use it with Torque on my Android phone.

How can I distinguish between OBDI & OBDII? Any help is greatly appreciated.

OBDII is only mandatory for cars sold in the USA, and it came into effect with the 1996 model year. Cars built to be sold in Europe use EOBD, which was fully inplemented in 2001 for gasoline cars and in 2003-4 for diesel cars. Your best bet would be to get a EOBD compliant scanner.
