oil presure

Default oil presure

got a 1.8 turbo audi a4 oil pressure keeps dropping off to nothing then oil light comes on right so far I have put in a new oil pump , pick up pipe ;filter ,pressure switch ,low oil switch(sensor) in sump, but still dropping off starts at about 70psi on start up and drops to zero when hot does the crank case breather system affect this in any way as I just found 2 cracked pipes

Did you ever fix the problem? I'm having the same problem.

I have the same problem . Also made my timing chain tensioner in op

Hi can any one tell me what the oil presure should be in a 2002 3.0 a4

There is an oil pressure relief valve that screws into the oil pump or in an oil passage before it gets to the oil filter (it depends on the engine where this is located). If it is not working properly, it can cause oil pressure issues. It is usually just a spring loaded plunger type setup that keeps the oil pressure from getting too high at higher rpms. If the plunger gets stuck or is restricted in movement for whatever reasons (usually crud build-up in the system as tolerances are very tight on these things) it can cause oil pressure problems.
