I have a 1996 audi a4 quattro. Recently it has been making a very loud whining noise whenever i turn, whether i am moving or not. I have had the steering pump replaced, and the power steering fluid level is not low. I know for sure that I am using the correct mineral fluid for it. The problem is especially bad when the car is cold, and gets a little better sometimes as it heats up. Any help would be great.

Just a quick thought when pump was changed did you properly bleed the PS meaning taking the cap off the reservoir and turning the steering wheel from lock to lock 10 complete times?

Thanks for the reply. I had the pump professionally installed, but I did try your suggestion. The car was still making the noise even after the ten turns.
