Hello, I am new to this forum, this is the first problem I've had with my 03 A6 Quattro 3.0. Now that its cold my power steering pump is raising cane. I moans and whines the whole time car is running. I vacuumed out what fluid I could and replaced with Audi fluid. I recently read it could be a o ring leaking on inlet hose. Does anyone know of this and is it repairable or do I need to replace pump and does anyone know of a tutorial on how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

+1, mine always whined a bit on a fully cranked steering wheel, but after this week's subzero temps, it appears to have had it. Would also like to know if anyone has any tutorials or at least time and cost estimates on the repair.

I have an '01 Allroad that has a constant low volume steering sound. It gets louder when I turn the wheel. Any thoughts?
