Default Q7 Towing limitations

I have been the proud owner of a 7-seater 3.0 TDI Q7 for just over 7 years, so well out of warranty, and she still gives awesome service. I have just purchased a boat and trailer and before she arrives and hitch up, I wanted to get advice please (not just referring to the specs in the manual) regarding the rating of the towbar etc. I do not want to swap her for something else (like a Dodge Ram or F350) for 2 trips a year due to the slight overage on the towing weight, if possible.

On the Q7 the trailer rating id 3500Kg, but the 7 seater is 3200Kg for some reason. I would have thought that the 7 seater would have had an equivalent, or stronger, chassis so not sure if anyone knows the reason? The boat and trailer combo is 3800Kg, and is fully braked hydraulically on both axles. In discussion with a specialised towbar manufacturer, he stated that he believes the Audi factory-fitted retractable towbar could easily take the weight.

My questions are:
1. Has anyone had experience with large loads with the Q7?
2. Any idea why the 7-seater is rated 300Kg less
3. Would 2 trips p.a. have such an effect on the transmission, engine, brakes for an extra 300Kg that it would indeed potentially damage the vehicle, and where?

Thanks and look forward to any advice.
Regards,
Dave
