Hi all. I have posted this in the S Line forum :https://www.audiforums.com/m_711270/tm.htm. I thought my problem was restricted to my B5 S4 but the code I just pulled makes me think anyone could help.

Summary of Issue: Car will just shut off while driving and will not start for a period of time (which has ranged from a few seconds to over 30 mins). When this happens there is a clicking under my dash which is the Fuel Pump relay. I have replaced this relay and it seemed to help but then it shut off again. The Vag code that just appeared is:

18011 - Internal Control Module: Failed Self-Test
P1603 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Has anyone seen this? Is my ECU bad? Thanks for any help.

 

Well its a internal control module malfunction which is never good, if it were a check sum error i would say its your ECM right off the bat.
Since you don't have any other fault codes there is little it could be besides the ECM un-fortunately.

 

you don't have a performance re-flash or anything do you...?

cause there is no way to test the control module itself...

 

No flash or chip in my ECU. It is bone stock. I am searching for new/used (stock or chipped!) ECU to rule out the ECU. I am hoping this will fix it.
