Do you guys use seafoam? Was thinking of putting some in my gas tank....is it also supposed to be applied anywhere else?

Also - are there any other treatments that you recommend someone who just purchased a pre-owned A4? I'm a newbie, thanks for the help.

Seafoam is great. Full can in the gas tank and then fill up at least halfway. You can also treat the oil (put 1/2 can max into the oil, drive 100 miles, and then change the oil and filter - this will break down sludge and crap). You can pull a vacuum line and suck up about a coffee mug's worth as well, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then fire it up and let it smoke out the neighborhood. That'll break down carbon deposits in the engine and help smooth things out.

For everything else, follow the manufacturer recommendations - mineral oil-based power steering fluid like Pentosin CHF11S, DOT 4 brake fluid, and whatever oil composition and viscosity is recommended for your car.

Thanks Devil, much appreciated. I used to use Seafoam in my old motorcycle, the stuff is great.
