Starting issue after fill up.
I bought my first Audi last week. Its a 99 1.8T Quattro. I bought it in very good shape. The previous owner how ever told me that when i go to fill up with gas, the car will take about 4-5 cranks for it to start and a bit of some gas, then when it does give it a little gas again and hold the rpm at about 1500. I asked him why is this? and how can i fix it? He said a new Gas cap. (because he had some cheap one on it) So i went out too an auto wrecker and took one Gas cap off another B5 Audi. Fit right, and clicked. Now as i went to fill up with gas tonight, it still did it. I filled up about 3/4 a tank, and had to crank it 4-5 times till it started, then rev it a bit till about 1500rpm, and hold for a few seconds. AND this only happens after i fill up, the car always starts fine after this. Car has no problems other then this. Runs strong.
I heard someone tell me it may be i need a new "Evap canister purge valve"
Anyone help me out please!
Thanks-
