Default Strange fault!

Hi guys.
I have a 2.0 16v coupe 1993 and iv'e developed a really strange fault.
The car will tick over but when i press the accelerator pedal it dies and will not pick up on the revs, unless i press the pedal all the way to the floor, where the engine will then rev its bo##ocks off.
Any help would be appreciated as i need the car for work.

By the way this has happened before but cured itself after a couple of minutes, now whatever was on its way out seems to have broke completely.

Also best to mention that when cold it runs fine from starting for about 30 seconds.
Iv'e also found out that if i disconnect one of the plugs from the fuel distributor it also runs fine!

most common fault area is the rubber pipe for loose fittings or split rubber, other is the IAC idle control valve as pointed out in the picture

The coil and dizzy cap is brand new.
Do you know of a way to test the ICV?
Also, i may be mistaken when i said the fuel distributor. The leads sit either side of this and slightly below it, do you think this could be the airflow meter?

Thanks in advance.
