Hey everyone. OK... so i just bought this great 1997 Audi 2.8 quattro and i want to do i tune up but i need some recommendations as to what sparkpluggs and wires to get. also what else should i look at getting replaced to bring her back up to pefection. she has 108000 miles but is strong as hell. please help

Spark plugs, air filter and cabin(pollen) filter

 

Go with NGK spark plugs, Brimi wires. Mann or Mahle oil filter and synthetic oil.
Also change the fuel filter as well.

Has the timing belt been replaced?

 

ok i looked up the parts and priced everything out. ill probably purchase them this friday. would you reccommend the bosch platinum +4s?? and im not to sure when it was changed last, ill go back to the dealership tomm? and find out

 

oh yeah... and what kind of wires did you recommend, i looked them up online and didnt find any results.

 

Not personal experience, but, I've heard MANY folks on here recommend AGAINST the Bosch P+4's. Enough so that *I* won't purchase them for MY upcoming tune-up, FWIW.

 

its actually falso with 4+ my car came with Bosh Platinum 3+ . That stuff is about the japanese cars. Becouse they coils are weak many times Bosh platinum plugs wont fire. So our cars are better with Platinum.

German Cars Rule. Remember Bosh is German.

Do a sea foam cleaning. my car is 190K miles and it did wonders to my car. Now my throtle is crisp and very good.
