Default Universal o2 sensor

Hey guys ummm.....wanted to know if using a universal o2 sensor on my 00' a4 2.8L could work. I need to pass my emissions and my check engine light has been on forever. I pulled the codes basically my fuel is running rich and i wanted to start off by changing the o2 sensor before i go to the Cats.

Well the first code that came up was PO 431 so either my Cat is done or it could be the O2 sensor but i haven't tested them yet. Then there is code PO 441 which says that my EVAP System isn't working correctly anymore.....sooooooo...if anyone has any expeirence with these codes i would really appreciate the help....I NEED TO PASS MY EMISSIONS...OR ELSE

YOu don't need O2 Sensors. Fault P0431 means your Cat is bad, usually I just erase that fault and if it comes back the 2nd time then I'll replace the Cat. For fault P0441 the Evap system just check for leaks in hoses or valves first.
