Hey everyone, can someone please help.

i have recently put in a second hand 2.0 ltr engine in my A3 and am having the following problems...ANY SUGGESTIONS would be appreciated

1 - a weird clicking sound pattern every 2 seconds
2 - when engine is off there is a tapping sound
3 - engine over heats
4 - engine shakes violently even tho the engine mount bolts are tight.

note: we have converted the head from 2 fuel rails to one. we blocked the return pipe

The clicking sound, could be contributed to the throttle body trying find its right orientation through idle,, half open, and WO. That's the only clicking sound I can think of. Engine shaking could be alot of things - your going to have to do better diagnostics then that.
