Default Is it worth changing the driver info display??

I'm wondering if it's worth changing the LCD info display? Anybody have any experience with it, does it get better or do they fail again after a short while? Also, anybody have an idea on labor cost to get it replaced? I can get the display for about $250 which is not too bad but need to get it installed of course...
All help appreciated!! Thanks!!

It depends on how bad your display is and how bad you want to see the info. Mine was fading out completely, almost black, so I changed the instrument cluster last year with a used one.
Can the replacement also start to fade ? .. sure, but maybe not, as not all displays will fade. My dealer charged $ 140 which included programming 2 keys to the new cluster.

Well, ours is nearly coming up to the point where it's impossible to make any of it. I don't put too much value on it, however it would be nice to see it back in one piece...
So, the $140 was for the labor for replacing it? And you need the keys re-programmed to the new cluster as well?
I phoned Shokan for a used one and they said they need a specific number from the back of the old cluster, can I get access to that myself or would the dealer have to help me out in that as well (which would mean more $$$...).
Thanks for your help!!
