Default Back Pressure Issues?

i currently own a 2003 TT FWD, and i'm considering getting a custom catback built, either 2.5" or 3", then possibly a 42dd 3" downpipe. the exhaust would be straight through to a muffler in back ( not sure yet, recommendations please!), i dont have a chip or tune just a p-flo intake n forge 007, so i was wondering if a system like this would be to free flowing, or is back pressure not an issue, i.e. turbo = the more flow the better.

also, is a 3" overkill? or is it worth having now if i decide to do more extreme mods (bigger turbo, intake, stage 2 chip, etc...) later?

3" might be a bit over kill if this is a 180hp TT. Decreasing the back pressure will allow for more top end power but might hurt the low end toque a little.

I guess your going custom exhaust since all of the aftermarket exhaust on the market are dual muffler which means having to replace the back bumper valance with one from the 225 TT.

thnx im goin with a resonator delete, and puttin a magnaflow race muffler in back, keepin the stock piping cause im on a budget, but it should keep some backpressure so hopefully its not a noticible loss in torque
