I'm new to this site because I have decided to take the plunge. Sold my M3 last summer and now want to try an S4 on for size. Have been searching for over a month to find that "right" car. Really struggling with the B6 or B7 model. The one show stopper that I keep running into is the type of belt line trim since I much prefer the aluminum or carbon fiber, instead of the wood grain.
Is it even possible to change the beltline trim yourself and can you get quality trim pieces from someplace other than OEM?

I'm pretty sure you can order replacement belt line trim from some of the more common online sites (ECS Tuning, PureMS, et al) and I know that you can order it from a dealership (or find another owner to trade with). Do a search on here for "interior trim" or "belt line trim" or "wood trim" and see what comes up - I know that some sites have been listed before.

You can also do some different looks yourself. Click my screenname, and then select my photo album. I did my original wood trim over with metallic silver to match the car, and redid it afterward in piano black (which I love) - there are pics of both in there. Recently (last week) I redid it again in black suede. Check the A4 B5 forum a few pages in for the link and pics.
