The driver seat in my A4 split on the side bolster on the back as well as the bottom at 71K miles, which I find very surprising, but it is what it is. I'm looking for suggestions, should I try a repair, can the cover be replaced at the dealer, would I be better to go to a third party who specializes in recovering.

Any thoughts on the subject are appreciated.

I'm stationed at Ft. Lewis but I just got here this last October. I don't know for sure anywhere that does this, but I know there is a place in Redmond called Achtuning! and they are an APR dealer. The specialize in Audis, Porches & VWs. You might try contacting them to see if they have any referrals. They do a lot of work there so I'm sure they know someone. I think you first go to the dealer and get the quotation for the seat covering if they can do then go to the good reputed garage who are doing this work and do a comparison of their work and price. In general I will go to garage to replace the covers.
