2004 audi a4 quattro 1.8t car starts then stops.
Hi, I purchased a beat up audi a4 quattro 1.8t/Frankenmobile. It needed some exhaust work and coil packs, bcm, and CCM when I purchased along with some lights and inside paneling. Got it good and running with help of father in law passed inspections and was using to commute 190 mi. a day for work. Sometimes five days a week. One day it rained hard during my commute and my wipers started turning on by themselves then the car wood not start. I got it jump and it ran and got me home. After that it would not start. Pulled the battery and noticed a puddle and removed plug to let water out. Charged the battery and it started with a bunch of smoke from the exhaust and ran for about a minute then stalled out. Thinking over primed trying to get it starting. We ran codes and got po411, po688, and po343. I looked in the ecu compartment and noticed water droplets and relays were ugly as well as the 217 female receptacle. I replaced all relays in ecu compartment, grabbed a automatic (I have a manual) ecu. Haven't switched yet because 1.)waiting on dremmel to remove security screws 2.) waiting on flasher and reader to come in. Tomorrow I will be able to use those, but I'm trying not to mess with the ecu, it only had some water droplets on it, and the original looks good as well as connectors. That's saying without opening it up yet. After I put relays in(I haven't switched the female part of the relays and 217 was ugly) it started up but would stall right out. Before it ran enough when it would start (rarely) where I could Rev the engine a bit before it stalls. Now I can consistently get it to turn over but stalls right after as rpms drop to idle and I can't even get it to Rev. Cleaned Mas, checked the fuel line to the injectors and fuel pumps out. During prime and cranking. Right front turn Singnal is now out probably messed up a wire during removal of MAS. But it's only the flasher, the yellow bulb is lit(not sure if it's related). That is where I'm at. If anyone has any ideas I would surely appreciate it as it is a good motor and transmission just problems with electrical. Has 260000 mi on it and it's a fun car to drive. Better mpg then my 2014 jeep (love my jeep) and is better on the interstate. The jeep is for my baby and the wife uses for work atm. This is my toy and want it back. Please help if possible.
