hello all, new member here need some advice please,i have a 95 80 t.d.i and it has been brill for the last 2 years until this weekend it started playing up the problem seems as if there is fuel starvation as the engine is missing and juddering but not all the time, i have changed the fuel filter and it seemed alright for a couple of hours but it went back to running rough. also on idle it flutuates up and down . any ideas???

have you cleaned out the ISV?
-spark plugs/wires
-changed vacuum lines
-o2 sensors?
-Maf sensor

It really could be a whole host of things. That should get you started though!

Thanks for the advice but this car has no spark plugs/wires as it is a "OIL BURNER" i think that is how it is descibed in the states, appreciate your time though cheers[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=thanx.gif]

Is it throwing a code when it runs rough? If so, do you have access to a VAG-COM?
