Hi everyone, my local Audi dealership just told me there was play in the front nearside wheel and a new steering rack is advised. £1300 down to £650. Bargain! There are about 50k miles on the clock. Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to check this (I've not noticed any leaks or felt any slack in the steering) and why does the whole rack need to be replaced rather than some part of if for a fraction of the cost?
