Default Badly dissapointed........

Hi,

Ive just got a S-line Audi A3 cab, it was an ex demo with 3,000 miles on it, driving the car is absolutely loverly, its a 2.0 diesal auto S-tronic, being top of the range I took some things for granted and I now feel very let down.

For the money I knew Id get Zenon headlights, leather interior, I made sure it had bluetooth for my fone and multi functions in the steering wheel which I consider a must have nowadays. What I didnt expect is ( please let me know if this is true ),

When I open the door in the dark, no interior light comes on ? ive spoken to the dealership where I bought it, Bishops stortford, they reckon it doesnt ? In the hand book it says press this button, when I do nothing and the switch swictches off when the door opens ? How **** is this !!!!

No cruise control ? I didnt check I just thought this is standard if I'd bought an escort from ford i would have got it? Cant rectro fit ?

I thought Audi were supposed to be the best ? I first went to Bromley Audi, they were all over me when I was looking, then I said I wanted an ex demo or one with around 3,000 miles on it, they soon dropped me like a stone.

Calling them and sidcup I said I wanted to buy one straight away and they couldnt find a car to help me. They didnt really look or help me in anyway. Bishops stortford had one, but found me this one as the first car had no bluetooth.

Basically I know have a car that cant charge my fone, I have wires coming out of the ciggy lighter so I can run a tomtom on the dashboard and kep my fone charged ? It doesnt feel like Ive got a new car or even a decent car.

I did speak to the dealership and said keep over a grand and take the car back and thy didnt want to know ?

Just a warning to all, audi aren't what they think they are, and also make sure you get in writing every little detail you want.

Make sure you check it comes with doors, windows and a steering wheel. Every little thing will be an extra !!!!!!

Well, being that your post was extremely hard to follow, given all the spelling and grammar errors, I'll try my best to respond. So you want to go bargain shopping for an Audi, but are disappointed when it doesn't come with the top of the line features? Look at any luxury brand of vehicle and you'll see that almost none come standard with everything you wanted (xenon lights, bluetooth, leather interior, etc.). Those are options and tactics to make cars more affordable for everyone. And by the way, bluetooth has nothing to do with charging your phone. So unless you have an iPhone and got the car with the iPod adapter, you're not charging your phone with "Audi" cables.

Dont get me wrong it is a nice driving car. Im more annoyed about the lack of service from the audi dealers !! and the morans that think parts of the car up ?

Also I have a car that doesnt put a light on when you open the door at night ? It has two lights there, one works ( reading light ) the other doesnt ? What car doesnt put an interior light on when you open the door ?

There is a so called button to allow this on the rear mirror, press it and it lights up, open the door and the switch turns off ????? ( poor workmanship ) !!!!

The arm rest, moves up and down and locks in place, well if you dont mind playing basket ball with it, after going up and down eventually you get it to lock in place. Again ( bad workmanship ), what fool thought this up ?

In the arm rest is a connector that allows me to use it as a fone charger, provided I have one of those old brick fones that havent been around for 5 years. Theres therefore power in the armrest, but audi haven't got anything that plugs into it to actually let me use it ? What a waste and poor work ? The actually fone that fits it hasnt been sold for over 2 years and the salesman in the audi garage actually said their managers had those fones, but obviously they dont have them any more.
How much would it cost to turn the voltage to 5V and have a usb connector there ?
After one week, I open the nice armrest I want to beat the crap out of and I see a plastic thing inside thats no good to man nor beast !!!

I've bought a new Honda CRV a year ago which had loads of extras and it beats Audi by miles for the things other than driving it. I just cant believe Audi are so shoddy when it comes to extras and using their brains.

If you do buy a new audi, make sure you get a list of whats in it, as your be surprised whats missing when you get it. right a list of all the things you think should be in the car and then start by going through that with the salesman. Then get to the list of things you would like. Your have spent over £2,000 just getting the basics in like a clock, steering wheel !! lOL

sorry if you audi nuts dont like the post, but its factual and my thoughts on the car........

Ring up Bromley Audi and ask why they never returned my calls ? Ring up audi in bexley and ask why didnt you look on your database and find a car ?

Ring up Bishop stortford audi garage speak to Mark and ask him did you really say no convertible car can have an interior light switch on when you open the door ?

Utter **** !!!!

Dude, it's YOUR responsibility to check everything.

It'd be nice for the salesman to go over EVERYTHING in the car for you. And I have had that experience when we were buying my mother's Mercedes C Class.
But if that's not the case and you have questions, they are there to answer. What might have seen "standard" for you may not be for an Audi.

For example,
I think all cars should have both tape deck and MP3 capable cd player.
I also think that heated seats for luxury cars should be a standard NOT an option.

But other than that, it's really you checking out the car. The best thing I think is to do is find a mechanic that you trust, pay him 100 dollars (or the rate he charges) to look at the used car. It's even good to bring a friend too, make sure your best friend fits, he might have some questions that you may have missed.

I'm not disagreeing and saying, convertibles shouldn't have interior light that lights up when you open the door, I think it should and I'm sure there were plenty of other choices that offered it.

Far as your phone calls not getting returned, it is crappy and yes it does make you feel neglected. But it won't be the first time nor the last time that happens. I'm in the retail business as well, I do my best to keep track of everything but I have more than once forgot to return a call.

Hope you have better luck the next time you call.
