i jsut bought a 1996 audi a4 quattro 2.8 l but teh carfax came up as a DOHC so does it have 190 hp or the 170 sumthin? i thought only the 97's had the dohc and 96 was sohc....

 

1996 have the 12valve 170hp engine not the 30valve 190Hp

 

the 97 was also a 12v it was switched in 98 welcome to the forum

 

thats strange, thats what i thought but still hoped that it was the 190 hp version. i still dont understand why when i carfaxxed the vin # it came up as 2.8 dohc, it jsut doesnt make any sense..... i jsut got like 4 tickets in these past 2 weeks as well so my rents are kind of pissed haha
