Default Building motor

I have a 2000 a4 1.8t..I'm looking into getting a block (longblock) and building it-performance. Does any one have any suggestions as to what rods/pistons to run ect..I am also contemplating stroking it-if anyone has any input that would be great. Overall I am looking to get into the 500 bhp range..Any input on what rods/pistons/turbo/tuning to run would be greatly appreciated! thanks

2000 motor all you need is rods and in this case some scat ($350). If you want some extra displacement, bore out the block for some 83mm pistons and that would take it to 1.9L. You can also use a tdicrank to make it a 2.0, but you have to have special pistons made for that.
