Finally brought my A4 across country
Well i finally got the time off to bring my new to me A4 down to the south where i'm currently at. The trip started well but the car had other ideas that i didn't like so much, about 500 miles in of a 2700 mile trip the Cam chain tensioner started making horrible noises every time i started the car or let it idle. I was in the middle of Montana and wasn't sure how long the thing would hold together so i found the nearest Audi dealer with the intention of buying the tensioner and installing it myself. However the Bozeman Audi dealer didn't have one but they did know of one in Fort Colins, Co. The tech there said it was with out a doubt the tensioner and he didnt know how long it would last but he was extremely helpful in giving all the hints and tricks i would need to change it easily. So i decided to head for Fort Colins, where i found the dealer to be a bunch of ****** who didn't want to just sell me the part and when they finally would they wanted to charge me nearly a grand for it. So i told them to F off and headed for Louisiana.
The rest of the trip went with out incident really the tensioner got a little louder at start up but never made noise while cruising. I made it in good time and the car held together so id say it was a success.
Here a couple pix i took before i left just to give you guys something to look at after reading all my nonsense!

Problem was as i figured, the cam chain tensioner had decided it was tired. Ordered a new one and got it in in about 3 hours, only had to go buy one new tool a small torque wrench
Plans for it this time around are mainly to keep it as reliable as possible while adding a little power. My truck is my toy now with right at 700rwhp and 1600 ft/lbs of torque i decided the car needs to be the DD
Its already got an APR chipped ECU and a 007, and i'm not sure how much i like the tuning I ran GIAC on my last car and i remember it being a lot smoother and it seemed quicker.. I'm thinkin ill do a k04 with the p-16 tune and supporting fuel mods, exhaust, fmic, and intake....
I sure do love driving this thing, the only down side ive found so far is for some reason my low beams really really suck... im gunna re aim them and see what i can do about finding some real hid projectors here pretty quick

That's awesome! Crazy amount of HP on that truck.
Yeah, when I rode in my friend's B5 with APR, the car feels a lot jerkier than my old GIAC tune for some reason. I didn't know if I like it or hated it.
