Default plastic adhesion promoter

where do i get this stuff?, I asked the kid atthe localcanadian tire and he just looked at me and said he doesnt know what it is. so i go to home cheapo and they don't know what it is,can someone help me out. like a name brand or something. a website would be great.

home depot has it, the employee you talked to just didn't know it...any hardware store will have it, just look in the same area as the primers

That's kind of what I suspected. It probably isn't the precribed way, but I've always given plastic a quick wipe with acetone to give it a little tooth before painting. The store bought stuff is probably nearly the same thing I would bet.

You might want to talk to a body repair shop.
They use the stuff before painting bumper covers, side moldings, anything flexible. Helps the paint 'stick' to the plastic. You've seen bumper covers with big sheets of paint peeling off them? No adhesion promoter.

You could also check with an automotive paint supplier.
