Motor noise on cold start when opening driver door
#11
Thank you Tim, this makes me feel much better. I wish I had VAGCOM or VCDS to monitor the fuel pressure when I open the driver door versus when I start the engine. The car usually sits the same amount of time in my garage. What was strange to me is why the electric vacuum pump noise level is different each and every day. Some days is very noticeable and other days barely. One thing is for sure, once it is primed and I am in the car, the noise is no longer there for the remaining of the day. Even is the car sits idle for 4 hours. I do not hear the the electric pump. Maybe it is still priming, but since the amount of fuel required is not as much as when it sits idle for 8 hours, I don't notice the noise. Ambient noise also masks it too. Thank you all for your help and great explanations on this thread. Really appreciate it.
