2000 S4 very slow... no codes.
I just recently purchased my first Audi. It's a 2000 S4 6 speed with low miles. The problem is that it has very poor acceleration. And by poor acceleration I mean a Toyota Prius would blow the doors off of this s4. It runs and drives great other than that. It idles smoothly. I can hear the turbos spool at low RPMs (well I can hear at least 1 turbo, not sure if it's both). The check engine light isn't on, but I scanned for codes anyway; came up with nothing.
One thing I did notice was that the hood/fenders of the car were very hot after a 30min drive. However, the temperature gauge & oil temp gauge were reading normal. I also noticed that the exhaust fumes seemed hotter than they should be.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem could be? Thank you in advance for any help.

No, I don't think the RPMs shoot up any faster than they should. Are you thinking maybe the clutch is slipping? Because the clutch seems to be in good condition. Granted this is the first audi I've ever driven (or even sat in), so I may be wrong about the RPMs going up at normal speed. I've always driven & worked on muscle cars my whole life. I purchased this car for the winter.
Well I checked the TBB and f-hose; no rips. Checked all the hoses that I could see; nothing.
However I did find that the y pipe had a hole on the bottom of it at some point, and repaired with silicone & duct tape. It seemed to be sealed pretty well, but I'm going to get a boost leak tester to make sure. Some of the lines running to the diverter valves seemed pretty rough too. Does anybody know where I can pick up a boost leak tester? Or would it just be easier to get one online?
