Does anyone know how to completly remove the ashtray from the center consol, mine is starting to stick closed and I want to get in there and see whats going on.

 

I have the same issue, i cant open it at all though.

 

Id say to take out the radio and then the A/C controls and it should be right under there, you should be able to see whats sticking it or be able to find a way to get it out since you an actually see it. I'm not an Audi tech but I was a mechanic for about4years

 

yeah mine hasnt been ablet to be opened since i bought the car

 

in the picture, unscrew the shift **** and I believe that entire plate snaps out, from the rear to the front... It's been a while sense I removed it, so I can't remember 110%.

Mine was stuck shut when I got the cor too. Pull the plate like shawn said then you can open it and there are to screws holding it in. I found a fortune, two stickers, a receipt, some money and a porsch key in mine.

 

yea mine sticks to i just hit the side of it by my knees and it pops out haha but now my cup holder sticks lameeee...

you might be able to fix that, i added some lubricant to my cup holder (jig-a-loo) and now it pops out nice! just use the little straw that comes with it

 

Since its near the top....

I opened mine this summer by pulling off the shifter trim. I found about $3.00 in change that seemed to be making it stick. Now it is 100% functional.
