Audi Navigation Plus and Music question
Hi everybody,
I've had my B7 S4 for a couple of weeks now, and I am stumped with the Nav / Music thing. If I want to use the Navigation but NOT listen to music of any sort, I can't figure out how! Turning on the system defaults to the last source you used (CD, MP3 CD, Radio, SD). I can't turn these off without turning off the whole system.
What I did to get around this was select CD when the changer was empty and that seemed to trick it into shutting up. Now that the changer is full and I have SD cards in, I can't fool it anymore.
Any ideas???
Alan

Do any of the corners of the screen say anything about settings. If so hit the coresponding soft key(ones around the scroll button), and check for a setting that deals with muting radio during navigation.

Now you did not read your manuals twice like I did! Push that cute little button on the bottom right of the MMI unit - in/out is audio power, rotate is volume like your right steering wheel roller. Does not shut off the NAV/GPS.
PS - what is an S4R???

I had the same problem. I would just turn it to FM radio and turn the sound all the way down, then flip it back to navi.
One word of caution, if you want a better sound system at some point, don't just get new speakers and amps - they don't work well with the Bose system even with a "CleanSweep" signal processor. I ended up replacing the entire head unit with a Pioneer AVIC-Z2, which I love, but it was a pricy solution.
