Default Audi s4 noob

Hey guys I am new to this forum and just trying to get an idea on what you guys do to your 2001- 02 s4. I currently have a wrx, so I am familiar with turbos, and how a BOV is usually a waste of time and can hurt the engine, and how Engine Management is very important. My first question is about the turbo in these cars. What kind are they and can the boost be turned up with out mods to ecu?? How high can the internals on the car handle and how high can the stock turbos go?? I know in the wrx world a new turbo is key for more hp in those cars, I feel that may not be the case for these cars. BTW Im looking to get an s4 in the spring time or summer. thanks alot for any information.

Chris

Well, to my knowledge the boost cannot be changed without getting an ecu chip/flash. The internals of these cars can go pretty high, but as people get more and more power in these, a lot of people start getting upgraded internals, and OEM parts from the RS4 wo replace theirs. With the stock turbos the most hp you can get is gonna be around 350-360 if im not mistaken (they are K03's). With K04's you can see arouind 450 i believe (correct me if my numbers are off). There are also some parts (such as the DV's, TBB, and F-Hose if you are a pre 2001 car) that should be replaced even without modding because they are particularly weak in our stock cars. Do some searching around and you will find a wealth of information on this forum, and other audi forums (audiworld.com and audizine.com are very active and have a lot of info).
