I just bought a 2001.5 S4 manual, I was wondering if you guys can help me out on where to stort as far as the best upgrades to start with and best makers of those upgrades. It has suspension springs, wheels, shifter and a boost gage and thats it so far. Its under a extended warranty so if i change something I want to be able to put it back to stock if i have to. When I do a chip for exp, do i get to keep the factory computer? Will i have to do exhaust before i chip it? Do they make an intake for it and is it worth buying? Any help???

Hey Jimmy, welcome to the forums and congrats on the S4.
Sounds like you already have a few mods done. A great start.
Def chip your car, you will love it and it will NOT void your warrenty.
Get either an APR chip or GIAC. Both tuners have an option that allows you to switch the ECU back to stock mode.
This way no one will know its chipped exept you! Chipping it will turn your car into a monster.
Once chipped you dont need to add an exhaust , although, it would be nice. Not needed though.
An intake is not really worth the money. Not many gains. Inatke is what you add once you have everything else.
After you chip your car you will want to ugrade you diverter valves. They are about 120$ each.

 

Thanks, Whats a good Place to order a chip? Is there a certain stage chip i should go with? I live in so cal but i can also order online if its better. Is there a good website to order s4 parts from? Also, what brand diverter valve is best?

 

Noo noo you dont order a chip. You go to an installer and get 'flashed'.
They plaug a laptop into your port and 'chip' the ECU.
There should be plenty on installers for both APR and GIAC in so cal..
check out www.goapr.com and www.giacusa.com , they will have eveything u want to know.
You will want to start with a basic flash, maybe a 93 octane flash or even 100octane !
Ask for DV's , hyperboost , forge 007 and Bailey are all good valves.
